EMDR & Trauma Therapy
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a structured, evidence-based therapy that helps the brain process distressing or overwhelming experiences that may still be affecting you in the present. When memories remain unprocessed, they can show up as anxiety, emotional reactivity, intrusive thoughts, low self-worth, or patterns that feel hard to shift.
EMDR works by supporting the nervous system to reprocess these experiences in a safe and contained way, reducing their emotional intensity and allowing new, more adaptive perspectives to emerge. Clients often notice that memories feel more distant, less charged, and no longer define how they see themselves or respond to everyday situations.
EMDR can be helpful for single-incident trauma, childhood experiences, relationship wounds, grief, performance blocks, phobias, and ongoing patterns linked to stress, anxiety, or shame. Sessions are collaborative and paced carefully, with a strong focus on safety, stability, and choice.
If you are curious about whether EMDR might be right for you, you are welcome to get in touch to arrange a brief consultation to discuss your needs and options.
